Figure I would repost the thread from the old forum that is now locked...

So here it is... my new to me* boat...

15' Calibogie with an 06 50Hp Honda four stroke with 56hrs on it. Just had the 50 hour service done so I am good for awhile...

For one, this sucker barely fit in my garage! :X

I pretty much spent all my money on this boat and after tax and registration... I would be broke...

But here are my current plans for this boat.
1) color fish finder
2) guide on for trailer
3) bimini top
4) rod holders
5) mount my two downriggers

Now after I get these and I save up enough the following will be next.
6) trolling motor
7) replace that ugly steering wheel
remove Doelfins and replace with Smart tabs

I got the self centering roller and added another set of bunks onto the trailer... Hopefully this will make it easier to center the boat on the trailer.

4/10/07
Ended up buying some 5' bunk guide ons and I already took off the PVC post guide ons off.

4/11/07
Ugly steering wheel removed and replaced with a 11" stainless steel Destroyer

4/15/07
PVC post guide ons back on w/ lights installed
Swivels installed on the seats

I actually have put well over $8000 into it already. However I have most of the things I have planned done to it... Last thing left is to replace the doel fins with smart tabs and I should be set...

A friend of mine manages the HMS factory where your boat was made. Unfortunately, they only made them for a couple of years. They continue to produce the West Wight Potter sail boats today as they have since 1960. In 1990, I sailed a 15 foot potter the entire Sea of Cortez solo. They make very fine boats. If you ever need info for you boat, you might try West Wight Potter, and ask for Capt Bill. BTW, brand new, your boat was about $5,000.

Sweet... thanks for the info Bruce... I'll definately contact Capt. Bill if I need info on this boat.

I figured the boat was pretty inexpensive but the 06 Honda 50hp four stroke sealed the deal for me... :)

Just sumed up all the receipts that I have and so far I have spent $2200 on accessories and crap... Stainless steel parts are a grip... I have also taken the boat out about six times and caught a total of eight fishes... :(

Grimpy and Jsauce, it was nice to meet you guys on Castaic on Saturday. Grimpy, your boat is sweet. How did you guys do. We ended up with 9 stripers baiting and waiting on the dam area and on area by the west ramp. As for loading the boat back to the trailer, we had difficulties because our guide is too wide. I need to get a new bunk guide for my trailer.

Flipped the downrigger rail mounts so that it doesn't stick out so much.

Grimpy,

Your boat photographs well and is setup as fish catching machine. She looks pretty in person as well as in photographs.

Hey Grimpy, I am looking into putting a hydrofoil on my motor. Would those Doelfins be too big for a 25 hp mariner?

Thanks,
Shock

thanks guy...

Shock

I already promised them to Radray. However, Doel Fins are universal fit pretty much... Should fit your Mariner... I once again must stress that Smart Tabs are 100 times better than Hydrofoils... If you are going to spend anything, go with the Smart Tabs!

No problem....

Would you mind explaining the difference between the two?
