Having spent the past few weeks pouring over tide charts, wind forcasts, etc. I have come to a iron-clad conclusion. I only go the beach on the days when I have time to go fishing. Sometimes I hit it, other times I don't, the average is roughly in the middle. Please feel free to try out this technique and let me know how you do!

Thats the same theory I use...

But when I burn $50 in fuel to get to the water ($100 RT), I really dont care what the water condition is and launch. Thats why they make life jackets and rain gear!!!

My trip planning/trips go's something like this,
Sleep in till 6AM/7AM.
Have a good pancake breakfast.
Hopefully out the door 8AM/830AM
Heading offshore by 10AM
Probably missed the AM bite
Hopefully theres a afternoon bite.If not, Go spear fishing
Always catch the evening bite
Stay out till min. 10PM winter months
Summer all trips are 24hr/36hrs
Will always launch as long as no small craft warning,20kt winds, rain, daytime highs low 50s
Have not been landing big WSB/Yellowtail.
Catching lots of Batrays,Shovelnose, and some Butts/Leo's,
2008 season, Still sleeping in,But will be following the tides more, looking for good current, and certain colored water.
2008 will be my WSB/Yellowtail/Halibut year
Every trip is a fun one
