Howdy! I current fish in so cal but will be up to the NoCal area at the end of January...was wondering if there are nice fresh water fishing spots within an hr of San Jose?

Fished it two weekends ago for a couple hours from shore. Worked the right side of the launch ramp with drop shot.

Larger fish have lock jaw, but the bite is on for slot sized fish. If you go there work the 1st point after the cove to the right side of the ramp. I caught 2 of my fish there back to back. Purple/Chocolate.

Anderson is really the only san jose based lake producing anything right now. Things might be different come the end of Jan, but for right now it's your best bet to get on some fish. Fish slow.

Good luck.

Don't know the current conditions, but I would consider Lafayete Res. When I lived in the Bay Area this used to be my favorite spot...trout stocked were NICE. This was a few years back already though, but I bet it is still cranking out fatty rainbows.

Happy New Year,

If ya hit Lafey.... WON says to fish South Cove for trout.
