Local Rockfish Trip 12/19 w/pics

Another week and getting out on the water again. Getting tougher and tougher with the thinning crowds and iffy weather. If you can't go to the Channel Islands for Rockfish .... come out locally for the good Sheephead and Whitefish catching while you can !!

Hey guys ....

How come nobodys called me on the fake Buttermouth Perch yet ? :shock: I guess he or she is actually a Rubberlip Perch! Loved to catch those Rubberlips off PCH and along the marinas when you could simply walk onto the dock and they actually let kids freely fish !! No fences, no rent-a-cops, no black and whites, no liabiity worries !! Ahhhh the 60's !!!

Did they call your cell phone to let you know they were cancelling the trip? That is one reason why I hate the "reservation" system. Never works on the landing's end. When I make a reservation I always give my cell number. Never had a call to advise me of a cancellation. They just tell me when I get to the landing. Really burns me~!~!

Thanks for the reply. I don't ..... er ....I refuse .... to have a cell phone !! Someone might call me when I don't want any disruption! :D :D

I'll agree that it's hit and miss at best on the calling. I've overheard calls being made to anglers but probably too late to 'cut 'em off at the pass' if they drove any distance taking over half an hour.

Cell phone idea great .......... in principle .... except for the yahoos that are late or ......went to another landing that canceled their boat then call the landing I'm going out to tell them to hold the boat as they are 'on their way.... only 5 minutes'. 25 minutes later the jerks show up!

Ya .... really lame when you give them a cell number. I'd ask them to write 'cell number' by my number if I had a cell and nail them if they didn't call!!

Thanks ! Ya .... everyone knows the Bocaccio are like rats ....... as quick as they multiply. They may do a two tier depth thing as a compromise as it seems was done in the past.

Thank you. Next year I gotta join the gang and fish ALL the boats. Spitfire is at the top of the list as you can imagine ....... preferrably with you and the boyz. Depending on the boats going out during January and Feburary, I may be forced to break my weekend rule .... just to get a ride .... which would be great if it was with FNNer members such as yourself.

Since there are 3 marinas in Long Beach, if they call to cancel there is a great chance I can make one of the other marinas. If I don't find out until I get there, could be difficult.
