Posted for my dad, gotta admit.....the guy is CORE:

Met up with Eric Neiman and Bryan Davis (Redrum) and the plan was to hit the East end of San Clemente island. Saw Greg Persinni and James Shamblin hanging in the lot and they had the same intentions. Their plan was to head west of the island.

Left just about 5:35 am from the Alamitos entrance and was soon fishing boilers at China right around 7:30 am!!

We started kind of slow our first drift, so, I moved in real tight and we start picking off fish. Eric hangs a real good one on the Iron!

9 pounder on the Iron on December 16th on straight 65 pound braided line!

Water temp just around 59-60 all day. Weather great! No swell so we were able to get in real tight! Stayed on the east end all day. Fished inside Pyramid where me and Eric saw about a 10+ pound fish roll on my surface iron and miss next to the boat!!! We caught fish from 12" to Eric's 9 pounder, but, most in that 3-6 pound range! I would have to rate very good quality over quantity, but, we did catch a few nice ones!

Caught some real nice ones on the Iron! It is December, right?? Eric was throwing some plug he called his "NAZI" lure because it is from Germany and hangs a few good ones including a 7 pounder on it!

Bryan's 7 pounder caught on a 6" #100 Red Rum Big Hammer swimbait

My 7 pounder also caught on a 6" #100 Red Rum Big Hammer swimbait

After pounding the east end, we moved to the front and caught a few small ones on the iron and called a day right around 2:45 pm.

Got pounded all the way home, lost my trollmotor head, and was soaked! Great day of fishing with two great guys! Going at it again on Monday!

Nice fish!

Glad to see a fishing report from the pond...it has been kind of dry around here lately.

Did you go to SI on a bass boat?
