I've noticed that one of the advertisers here mentions some of the lowest tides of the year in his forcast for good fishing next week.

What gives? I was under the impression - and have results to support the position - that the three hours straddling high tide were the ideal times to fish the surf.

What's been your experience?

Thanks,
City Dad

For me it's more of a location thing. Different location, I will fish at different tide.

Many beaches at extreme low tides may uncover completely different bottom and structure you can't reach normally. Second sand bars, deep holes, drops offs and complete bottom structure change. Also remember to scout out your favorite beaches for the above mentioned things for when the tides are normal. You will then know where the fish will be holding. Almost a neg 2' on the 23rd. I'll be in the desert with the wifey sucking down some cocktails and relaxing this weekend- sans kids- good luck City Dad

I am on the low tide page. The lower, the better IF you are fishing from the surf.
