Jenks Lake made for a great outing. The roads are a mess, so make sure you pack the chains as they are required.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for those pics! I wish I could find some old pictures of the first time I went to Jenks Lake. I was a little 5 year old, and my mom and dad had taken me up to the mountains for the winter. The Lake was iced over. It was also my first experience of why not to eat Yellow snow! :dogpiss:

Yes, it was quite beautiful Sansou. :D I tried to fish for about an hour, but had trouble with the eyelets on my fishing pole icing up. I guess when you fish in inclement conditions below freezing you should keep casting to a minimum and choose the "Bait~n~Wait" option. The Trout at that temp were probably too lethargic anyway too chase after my spinners.

Merry Christmas!

I've never fished in my snow apparel before, so I thought I'd give it a try. Tying knots can be a bit of a hassle because you have to remove your gloves and ski mask, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Casting can become difficult if temps are below freezing because the eyelets on your rod will freeze up and the line on your spool will crystallize with the moisture. I did see some fish jumping as the sun began to set. Jumping at what I don't know. :? The weather was definitely too cold for any insects to be out and about.

Another thing that was very awesome was that my 3 kids and I had the whole lake to ourselves.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks Granny! I will try that. Only the last two eyelets had the problem of freezing shut.

Merry Christmas!
