I usually visit with my Aunt once every few months, and I wanted to ask some questions. By the way, the place I visit is near 2nd street in Belmont Shores.
1. Are there any good places to do saltwater fishing? Within biking distance to <3 miles
I've tried going right off the beach, but not even a sniff.
2. And are there any places to do freshwater fishing near there?
The same, within 3 miles.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks man.
But, do they need to be bigger crankbaits and kastmasters?
I only have 1/4 OZ kastmasters and 1/2 OZ crank baits.

those are fine but if u can get 5/8 to 3/4 ounce be better
and get a crank in bait fish pattern like the lucky craft sardine or aurora black

Yes, the storm anchovy works pretty good, use a slow retrieve, keeping it on the bottom. I would use a scent of some kind with that also. Ive caught a few legals with that bait.

I'm no freshwater expert, but can't you fish out of El DOrado park lake ?
It should be right around 4 mi from PCH if you take the bike path up the 605 / San Gabriel River bed

Long beach <3 miles not Pedro
Just bike down to the beach and fling what you've got. Long casts aren't alway's necessary. You could also jig some smelt and c-rig them for some big butts that like to winter in the area.
