Looked like another quiet night at home when Sints sister got an invite to a sleep over. Whoo hoo, that meant no sitter needed for a quick trip to Balboa pier on a Saturday night.
We arrived at about 7:00 and it was pretty quiet. Not much happening anywhere. Heard of a few mackeral and rays caught near the end. Sapen had a good hit at about 8:00 or so and Sint was farming a few from time to time and pulled what looked to be a small bass of some sort.
Not too long after that I was suprised to see my pole bounce a little off of the rail. I picked up the pole and had to take up all of the slack as it was coming back towards the pier. After taking up all of the slack and untangling my line from Sint's I pulled up a pretty nice Horn Shark. It was just over two feet long.
Then it was Sint's turn. He hooked into a very nice sculpin. I would have to say it was the biggest one we have ever caught there. It went easy 16" and pretty fat too.
Sapen got the big ole' :skunk:
Wind started to pick up and it was getting a little cold so we decided to head out and call it a night. As we were leaving I heard someone say " I'll look for the post tomorrow". We walked over to see who it was and were happy to meet a fellow FNN memeber and his buddy. Was great to meet you Hawkeye5447. :thumb:
Here are a few pics.
