Initially I was going to do an overnighter out to Santa Rosa Island; however, on Friday evening we opted to take a run out to San Clemente Island to try for some Yellowtail and other critters. The crossing on Saturday morning from Long Beach was pretty much smooth cruising. I invited Jason “jscrib and Kevin “Mars to fish with me aboard my 23ft Seaswirl Striper “Big Drum
Our main goal was to catch some Yellowtail Jacks. We fished west of the fleet off of Pyramid Head and it didn’t take long for Jason to go Bendo on a nice Tail.

About an hour later, Kevin hooked a 19 pounder. Yeh buddy!

After a couple more hours of yo-yoing without any more luck on the Yellowtails, we decided to make a move to catch some other critters.
