Live Bait?

Im going fishing down in Newport harbor tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy some live bait thats close to there. Looking for ghost shrimp, or possibly live Anchovies. Dont know where to go. I've tried a bunch of liqour stores and nobody sells live bait. Any help would be appreciated.

Off season, the bait barge is gone for the winter, so probably no live bait available in the area..

Best bet is to get Sabiki or Umbrella net and try to catch some smelt.... :thumb:

The closest place for ghost shrimp that I know of is Big Fish in Seal Beach.

you can get live bait at the pavillon / newport landing, where they rent skiffs . ghosties at big fish , seal beach blvd. & P.C.H.

no more live bait at skiff rental at daveys they took the pens out about a year ago

Years ago they use to sell live bait at the end of Belmont Pier. It's going to be quite a distance from where you are fishing and I'm not sure if they still do. :(
