This super tournament will feature for the first time this season, Thunder and Lightning Trout. If you have not caught Lightning Trout your are in for a big treat. Lightning Trout are some of the most beautiful trout you will ever catch. They are a vivid golden color rainbow with a crimson red horizontal racing stripe. They are like neon lights in the water, you can see them as they fight hard and strip line. Many will be stocked "Trophy Sized" but the real prize is their ruby red and tasty meat. This is one of the best eating rainbows you will ever savor. The meat is mild and delicate in flavor. Some say it's very similar if not better than Salmon. Also, Thunder Trout, similar to Lightning trout will be stocked. If you want a fight, you wont find a more scrappy fighter. They are fast and they hit hard and quick. Busted lines and pulled hooks are very common when trying to catch Thunder Trout. It takes a skilled angler to get a limit of these fighters. If you hook into a big one, your in for a ride. Many anglers say this is one of the hardest trout to catch.

We will also stock what our Lakes are famous for. Lots of 3 to 5 pound rainbows plus the "Biggest Trout" around. No other Fishing Lake in California stocks rainbow trout as big as we do. Yes, its very possible that trout as big or bigger than the 27.50 pound current State Record will be stocked for this event. As a reminder, two trout have already been stocked that could break that State Record. They have been hooked several times but so far, caught by none. The biggest rainbow caught this season stands at 25 pounds.

This is going to be another great tournament. Early sign-up is available at the Tackle Shop at Santa Ana River Lakes (online sign-up deadline was 1/24). The Tournament fee is only $15 if you sign up on or before Thursday 1/27/05 and the first 100 to sign-up will receive a limited edition Tournament T-Shirt valued at $15.00 for FREE. Do the math... After 1/27/05 the fee is still only $20 and you can sign-up in line the night before or early the morning of the tournament. Entry to the tournament will end at 9:00am.

Rules:

• Open to shore anglers, boaters, kayakers and float-tubers
• All Santa Ana River Lakes Fishing rules apply
• All FishingNetwork.net members must be a member of our message board to be eligible for the $200 FN Member cash prize. (register if you are not!)
• Must have proof of tackle ownership to claim Lip RipperZ or Eagle Claw $200 cash prize, one cash prize per angler.
• Weigh-in will take place outside of the Tackle Shop at 3pm. You must have your fish out and ready to be weighed at this time.
• In the event of tie, first fish weighed takes place. Final decisons will be determined by the weighmaster.
